Ladies Ballpark Apparel on a Budget
I show you how to be a ballpark hottie for $15 or less! ;)
Victoria’s Secret’s PINK must have been reading my blog this past winter when they came up with the inspiration for this hot little number for their MLB Collection:
If you were like me and didn’t feel like shelling out $32 for it, get ready for instructions on how to do it yourself!
1. I ordered this shirt off of MLB.com in the clearance section for $14.98 in a small. I liked the sparkly NY logo and thought it would fit this design well. I threw on the shirt and based on my body decided where to cut the fringe and made a chalk note. After removing the shirt I used a piece of paper to draw a line across the shirt for the fringe strips. I also drew cut lines around the neck and shoulders.
2. I cut the neck area first and like I’ve said before, an extra set of hands pulling the fabric makes the cuts straighter. Try and recruit a friend, or you can pull a me and use your feet (clean of course!).
3. After I finished the neck I cut off the bottom of the shirt and began cutting straight strips up to my solid cut line along the midsection of my shirt. I gave up on drawing lines and did the cuts freehand.
4. After I rubbed the chalk marks out of the fabric, shook out the fringe, and touched up some of my cuts, this was my final result:
I absolutely adore my new Yankees shirt and this design in general. It took me less than 10 minutes and that process would have been even quicker with an extra set of hands. Though I’m not huge on showing a ton of skin, I think paired with pants (it’s getting cooler anyways!) this is a fun and not as obvious display of skin. I can always throw a white cami on under it too! By not splurging on this VS PINK shirt, I can justify my other purchases- like their super adorable yoga pants… I can’t make those!
Also I should definitely mention that the VS PINK MLB Collection is on sale right now at the MLB Shop and it’s a great gift to yourself or any lady baseball fan. I picked up a couple of sweat shirts that I’ve been wearing in hope of the Yankees making it to October ball… yeah I still believe!! #PlayoffPush
Slightly obsessed with all my new Yankee PINK purchases!!! Had to show them off!
